Location

San Andrés Lodge & Spa is located in Imbabura, known as the “province of the lakes”. It is merely five minutes away from the vibrant and enchanting colonial downtown of Ibarra and only two hours from Ecuador’s capital. Natural lakes surround the countryside, each of them as unique and beautiful as the mountains that separate them.

Within a short drive are towns recognized for the distinctive goods they sell.  Otavalo has become famous internationally for colorful garments and handicrafts.   Cotacachi prides itself on the variety and quality of its leather goods.  San Antonio de Ibarra, on the other hand, is well known for its woodworking artisans.

Day trips from the lodge include the Chota Valley and the ecological reserve El Angel, which boasts an ecosystem unique to the Andean highlands as well as a petrified forest.
